DC released a teaser video for their jam packed 2022 lineup which includes The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash, and Aquaman.

I’m excited to see how Robert Pattinson does in The Batman but I’m more intrigued to watch The Rock tackle the Black Adam character. Then we’ve got Michael Keaton coming back as Bruce Wayne for The Flash which is sure to tug on our nostalgic little hearts. Honestly, I’m not clamoring to the movie theater for an Aquaman flick but the first one was impressive and at this point I’m invested in the thought of a DCEU resurgence of some sort so I’ll be tuning in for sure.

Hi! A lot has happened in the world since the last time we connected and we have a feeling that many of us are in need of a pick-me-up. After a hiatus that lasted way longer than intended we’ll be opening up again for submissions next month.

In the meantime we’ll be publishing entries from past events and featuring poetry under the #SecretPoetryStash hashtag.

For those of you who are new, Secret Poetry Stash was started in 2014 by @emerlythegreat as a project dedicated to sharing the healing power of poetry with others.

We accept physical submissions from poets and artists, fill “pick-me-up” boxes with the material we receive, and then run giveaways to see who will receive our stash. The boxes are reserved for those in need. In previous years the boxes have gone to chronically ill patients and people going through emotional and mental distress.

We can’t wait to get started and hope to spread some good vibes with your help.

Steez Wars: JOE Re-battle

As promised, we will continue to run @Blackbookology re-battles and we’re finally ready to restart that process. We’ve been waiting to complete our transition by changing our profile usernames but at this point we’re not sure if we’ll ever be allowed to do so.

That being said, the show must go on. Our next re-battle is for the word JOE. There’s a $50 prize pool with $40 going to a publicly voted champion and $10 being awarded to a randomly selected participant.

The rebattles are a chance for our participants to give past battles another try while giving previously unpublished entrants an opportunity to be posted.

To submit new entries:
– Sketch the word “JOE” in your blackbook and include a handstyle of “SteezWars” in your new entries
– Tag us and use the #GullySteez hashtag in your submission on Instagram to get our attention

To submit older entries:
– Simply tag us in your original submission
